We believe that the Bible is God's holy and infallible word and that it is the ultimate rule of faith and life. It is upon this book that we strive to build our lives, families, and worship. The doctrines and convictions of St. David's Church are based on historic Protestant orthodoxy as summarized in the historic Christian creeds and Reformed confessions. As evangelicals, we look forward to the day when the knowledge of the Lord will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. We believe that every thought will be brought captive to Christ as we live faithfully in our families, communities, and nation.

Don't mistake Jesus's calmness for indifference. He not only cares about the storms in your life, he sent them to you. Wake Jesus up and he will deliver you. You think the storm is scary? The one who controls the storm is scarier. Hear more from yesterday's sermon at http://www.saintdavids.chu rch/wp/sermon/the-wind-and-the-sea-and-me/.
From yesterday's sermon on Mark 3:5: Thank God for "Angry Jesus." When his enemies make him angry, he responds by healing his people. The enemies of God can plot and scheme and accuse, they can manipulate and abuse, but that inspires Jesus all the more to respond in love and healing. And that is why his enemies will never win. Because no matter how much evil they can push out, Jesus responds with more goodness and more love. Hear more at http://www.wordmp3.com/ministry/?id=saintdavids

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! I hope you're having a blessed Christmas season. I wanted to send an update on Saint David Church's relief efforts since Hurricane Harvey. Many of you have donated to this cause, and we are truly grateful. I've done my best to personally thank every church and/or individual who donated. I trust you've received my letters or emails. As of December 25, SDC has received $49,758.77 in donations. This is from your contributions on Gofundme.com or by mailed check. We have been overwhelmed (and overjoyed!) with your generosity. I'm happy to report that we've already used $41,535.28 of those funds for supplies, material, and financial assistance. That leaves us with $8,223.49 to distribute. It was my hope to deplete these funds before Christmas, but the process takes time. We want to be good stewards of what you've given, and that means meeting with people, praying with them, hearing their situation, and then deciding how best we can assist them. Thus far we've given financial assistance to 13 families and 4 churches whose homes/buildings were flooded. The majority of these recipients did not have flood insurance and received little to no assistance from FEMA. Most of them are having to take out loans to pay for the rebuilding process; many of them are still displaced from their homes. The $41k also includes our earlier efforts: cleaning out a member's home; providing shop fans to strangers' homes; delivering pallets of bottled water to areas that were without clean drinking water; and miscellaneous supplies donated to drop-off centers or cleaning crews. Your donations have blessed many lives, and I'm glad that SDC can be the conduit to distribute. Recipients know that the funds have come from churches and individuals all over the USA and Russia. Each recipient expresses heartfelt thanks – some with tears, some with thank-you cards. On behalf of the elders, deacons, and laypeople at SDC, I want to again say “thank you” for your prayers and support during this time. We will distribute the remaining $8,223.49 as quickly as possible in 2018 (we already have potential recipients, awaiting contact). Beyond that, we are no longer asking for relief funds. We continue to pray that this will be a time of renewal for Houston, that the love of Christ would comfort those who have suffered, and that they would turn to him in faith. You have played a significant role in that mission; it would have been impossible without you! In Christ's service, Adam McIntosh, Pastor Saint David's Church
